For some years, 35 years ago, David Copperfield was an annual re-read (along with A Christmas Carol)...............I have not seen this film; but I have tried 2 versions of BBC television adaptations, with only modest enjoyment....Both really faltered in the transition from young David to young-man David. One of them stars Harry Potter as young David (Daniel Radcliffe--before HP) and Maggie Smith as his aunt---the three episodes-or is it 2? (out of 6) with these 2 are actually quite good. The wonderful Ian McNeice is a terrific Mr. Dick, but Bob Hoskins is only OK as Micawber.

I've wondered why the old rock group chose the name Uriah Heep, since he's such a loathsome character.....though not enough to actually find out.

Nice to see someone else mention Ruggles of Red Gap...

I just ordered the DVD from Amazon ($8)--it is also available for $4 on their streming service Prime Video.
