I have loved this song all my life! Both words and music tell the same glorious Truth.

And 'create in me a clean heart' was in the Psalm at Mass this morning. Please, Lord! Let it be so.🙏

When I was in second grade this was the first song we learned to harmonize, although we sang it as Beautiful Savior

Elizabeth, the beauty of traditional hymnody is that if the meter fits, the tunes can sometimes be exchanged, and the outcome is often quite beautiful. AND how wonderful that you learned to harmonize in the second grade! All that is pretty well gone now, to the loss of everyone.

I remember being a little girl in our Baptist Vacation Bible School one summer, and hearing some older girls sing harmony on O Sacred Head Now Wounded. I was amazed! Imagine the wonder of the Final and Everlasting Harmony...😇
