We continue to lean "on the everlasting arms" of Jesus. He is love, mercy, trust , and hope . Invoke His name often.

This is a favorite hymn in my family and the soldiers in the film clip are cheered and comforted, though by definition they are not “safe.” I wanted to share that the clip took my mind back to a scene from the film “Glory.” It’s worth revisiting, like other great cinematic pre-battle scenes. The Colored Troops are singing to the Lord with all their might around a campfire on the eve of battle. They know they are not safe. But in testimony and song they commend their lives and cause to God and lean into their true dignity as men, drawn together in divine fellowship on earth, drawn forward to daybreak and danger in hope of eternal glory.
