Have y’all ever looked into the movies of Whit Stillman? They’re nowhere near as good as the classics, but are clearly made by someone who loves the classics. Metropolitan is his version of a Jane Austen film and is his best one, but I’m reminded of Barcelona because of this (other) Glenn Miller number:
Thanks for that recommendation, Adrian. We have not seen these films. What is it about Glenn Miller that makes his every song so appealing? It always makes me a little heartsick to think of what he might have done if he hadn't been lost in the war. I love the biopic with Jimmy Stewart!
