The Dog Ate My Homework

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Dear Subscribers,

I’d like to blame the accidental emailing out of Monday’s Word of the Week (still in progress) a few moments ago on Substack, where some sorts of updates to the software are indeed going on right now. But the REAL story is this: My cat stepped on my laptop! Yes, I know, I know. Many years of teaching have taught ME to be suspicious of all the time-worn excuses for botched assignments and late submissions. And here I am making one of those excuses, myself, albeit for a too-early submission.

Please ignore the boo-boo if you can; and if you can’t, well, go ahead and read The Word of the Week now. Either way, you will still receive the correct email on Monday, with the proper format and with no further feline interference.
