The name George comes from the Greek word for a worker of the earth, a farmer. And St. George, the patron saint of merry old England, figures in today's poem.
I have a lot more appreciation for St. George since the Kolbe Center convinced me that men actually did live at the same time as and occasionally encounter dinosaurs, which before the 19th century were called dragons.
