In 1967 I taught at an infant school in East London for a few months. (Not actually infants but children 4 to 8, if I recall correctly.) There was an assembly every day that always included a hymn. I'll never forget the young Cockneys singing "All fings bright and beautiful, all teachers great and small." (In addition to Cockneys there were some Jamaican kids, and both accents took me a little while to understand.)
Thank you for this lovely song. It brought back so many memories! When I was a child, I discovered it in an old "reading book," in my grandmother's attic, and liked it so much that I memorized it for myself. By the time I was going to public school, any reference to "the good Lord made them all," or the Creator, was remove from textbooks in the State of Oregon, which was one of the most secular in the country. It goes without saying that finding any mention of our Lord in a current textbook would be very much an accident!
I'm not sure if this is the best way to contact you but I have not received email notifications of Monday's entries the last couple weeks. Thank you for this labor of love
