”Bad Day at Black Rock" could have been a merely preachy movie about racial bigotry, but it isn’t. It is a morality play -- in just over eighty minutes.
This is among my favorite films that I never tire of viewing each time it appears on TCM. It has special relevance to the bigotry of today. It's not going on in backwater desert towns in California, but in major cities and prestigious universities; it threatens to produce a Kristallnacht USA.
