Definitely are praying for your husband, as we are so blessed by his writings and this web page (or whatever it is called!) We have the book of poetry he wrote but have not read all of it yet. Lots to think about! Hope to see you sometime. Blessings for you and your family! God is good. We thank Him for you.

♥️ George Herbert though I only know a few of his most famous poems.

A Blessed Thanksgiving Day to your family. Thank you also for the latest article in Crisis, the subject needs attention and prayer.

Giving thanks for your beautiful ongoing witness to all that is good and true and asking God for abundant grace in your affliction.

With my prayers, Thelma.

Thank you, Thelma, for the encouraging word and for your kindness. Tony is on the front lines and takes a good deal of abuse for his work. We do need and value the prayer support. A very happy Thanksgiving to you.

Thank you for all the effort you both have done in fighting for the good and the beautiful in this life. George Herbert is one of my favorite poets. His works provoke much contemplation and at times tears in my soul. Many blessings and prayers to you and your family on this beautiful Thanksgiving Day.

Tony, you, and your children are in my daily prayers, as are others who I think of as being part of God's "Righteous Army." May health and strength return to your husband quickly; we need him to continue fighting the good fight. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you all:)

Thank you, so much. Tony has a serious vascular malformation in his leg, which he has had from birth. It's called KT Syndrome, and there is no cure for it. It's also degenerative, and causes sudden and debilitating and painful infections. He seems to be doing better today, so we are hopeful that this bout will be mild. We appreciate your kind comment and your prayers greatly.

May your husband's bouts with this reoccurring health issue be of short duration, and never life threatening. A low-key Thanksgiving spent with immediate family, great food, and good movies sounds like just what the doctor ordered:) A very blessed and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

I am praying for your full recovery confident in the Lord. Having experienced recurring health issues myself, I understand the anxiety it brings. “Will this never end?” Yes it will.

Bob, you are kind. Tony's condition is a vascular malformation, an extremely rare birth defect, which is incurable and degenerative. He's borne with it all his life, and it is a painful and quite debilitating issue. We sincerely appreciate your prayers and extend you ours for support in your own health difficulties.

Adrian, Tony has KT Syndrome, one of the worst cases the vascular specialist at the Lahey Clinic in Boston had ever seen. He's at high risk always of embolism, which could go directly from his arteries to his heart. This is why we have had to be particularly careful of Covid, and still must be. The condition is degenerative, and so as Tony ages the leg is not improving. This has been Tony's "thorn in the side" for his entire life. But God is good, and he uses our infirmities as means for blessing, as well.

"But such a heart whose pulse may be/Thy praise." Yes, that's what I want! Dr. Esolen has helped me understand how we need poetry to say that which prose cannot. I will keep the good professor in my prayers, with Gratitude.

Thank you, Ed. Our Thanksgiving may not happen here as typical, but our son wants "the feast," so I'm going to try to provide it for him. Tony is feeling some better today, so we are hoping that this one will be a mild bout. God bless you, and thank you so much for being a "regular" commenter here!
